We Love Our Friends!
2025 was a standout year for the library, and we owe much of that success to our wonderful partnership with the Friends of the Library. Their generosity—totaling $32,000—made a world of difference. Half of that went straight into modernizing our technology and AV systems, but their impact went far beyond the hardware. If you noticed the beautiful new walkway and signs near the parking lot this summer, you’ve seen the results of the Friends’ Memorial Garden project, which raised $8,000 through memorial brick sales.
Because of the Friends, we were able to host everything from New England history workshops and silent films to our beloved summer petting zoo. Our youngest readers were supported through the “One Book, One Child” program, and our museum pass program continued to offer free access to favorites like the Squam Lakes Science Center and the New England Aquarium, and add more venues like the Isabella Gardner Steward Museum and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Whether it was a record-breaking House Tour or deep dives into banned books during our Lit Discussions, the Friends’ support ensures the library remains the heart of our community.
We are looking forward to continuing to work with the Friends in 2026, and we are grateful for their stalwart support. Visit the Friends page on this website to find out more about the group and how to become a part of their fabulousness. And don’t miss the upcoming Chocolate Fare on February 12, 11 am to 1 pm!
