NEW: Radon Detector in Library of Things
January is National Radon Action Month. Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. It is produced by the natural decay of uranium in soil and rocks.

According to the NH Radon Program, 1 in 3 homes tested for radon reveals levels above the EPA action limit of 4 picocuries per liter.

The Moultonborough Library has a new digital radon detector in our Library of Things for our patrons to borrow and test their homes. The detector may be borrowed by our patrons for 2 weeks, and was provided by the NH Department of Health and Human Services, which also will provide free test kits to NH residents.

To borrow our digital radon detector, visit the Library of Things catalog on our website, or call the library. Please pick up and return the detector – and all the Library of Things objects – promptly so that others can also benefit.
