Keep your New Year’s Resolutions with a Little Help from the Library
Making New Year’s Resolutions is part of the fun of greeting a new year. The library can help you keep them in 2026 with our variety of resources and programs.
Resolution: Read More
That’s an easy one. With over 20 thousand print titles, and 42 thousand digital titles, we have books for everyone! Ask for recommendations from the library staff at the desk or check out the Staff Picks display, browse our shelves and our library catalog, or join one of our book groups.
Resolution: Get Your Taxes Done Early
The AARP Tax Aide volunteers will be back in 2026 with double the appointment slots and two days a week between February 10 and April 8. Register on our library calendar for an 1-hour slot, or call the library. You will leave with a completed tax return. Please see here for a list of the documents you have to bring with you. You will also have to pick up an intake form at the library. They should be available in 2026.
Resolution: Learn a New Language
Or practice one you already know. Mango Languages is an interactive, self-paced language learning platform with over 70 languages. It is FREE to Moultonborough Library cardholders – a yearly $119.99 value!
Find out how to access Mango Languages with your library card here.
Resolution: Declutter Your Home
Tired of all the stuff cluttering up your home? Find out if you have hidden treasures and what to do with them in 2 free webinars led by Pennsylvania Appraiser of the Year, Mike Ivankovich. Mike has over 30 years of experience in the antiques and appraisal business, and promises to help you sort through your belongings efficiently and possibly even lucratively.
Register on our library catalog for either (or both) webinars, or call the library where we will be happy to sign you up. Registered participants will receive the Zoom link 48 hours in advance of the event.
Please note that as this is an online event, there are no snow dates planned. It is funded by the Friends of the Moultonborough Public Library.
Resolution: Live a Better, Healthier Life
We have many wellness and health offerings on our program calendar, from a wellness-focused book club, to support groups for caregivers and those living with diabetes, and grief support groups. We also have a monthly foot clinic for patrons over 65 provided by the Granite VNA. And, of course, a well maintained collection of health and wellness print books you can find on our library catalog.
Resolution: Be more creative
We have 2 weekly craft groups at the Moultonborough Library:
- Craft and Chat: BYOP (Bring Your Own Project) on Tuesdays, 5 to 6:30 pm
- Friday Stitchers on, yes, Fridays, 10 am to 12 pm
Bring a craft to work on and socialize with other area crafters. All skill levels and crafts are welcome.
You can also attend our monthly craft classes, taught by talented local instructors, usually on the third Tuesday of the month, 5 to 6:30 pm. See our scheduled crafts for 2026 here. These classes are generously funded by the Friends of the Moultonborough Library. We will be enjoying crafts that would have been popular in Colonial and Revolutionary Eras in honor of the country’s 250th birthday. (Please note that on the days there is a class, the Craft and Chat: BYOP meeting is cancelled.)
CreativeBug is our online service for crafters, with tutorial videos for all sorts of crafts. You just need your library card to join CreativeBug for free.
Resolution: Support the Moultonborough Library
There are many ways you can support the library’s programs and services.
- Join the Friends of the Moultonborough Library. Visit the Friends’ page on our website to apply online, or stop by the library to pick up a membership form.
- Become a volunteer. Our annual used book sale is the product of hundreds of hours of volunteer work. Would you like to join our lively group of book sorters, or volunteer in another capacity? Please fill out the contact form and we will get back to you.
- Make a monetary donation using our secure online link, or stop by the library. We accept cash, checks and credit cards.
- Donate used books, puzzles, games, DVDs, and vinyl LPs in good condition for our annual book sale. Please, no moldy or smelly books, and ensure that any non fiction is less than 10 years from publication. Pack the books in manageable boxes because our volunteers have to cart them up and down stairs.
