Title: Some Underwater History of Lake Winnipesaukee with Hans Hug, Jr.
Contact: , 476-8895
Location: Program Room
Description:

A scuba diver and history buff, Hans has been an avid diver for 23 years throughout New England, ranging from the Connecticut River to the ocean. He enjoys lobster and scallop diving, searching for shipwrecks, and searching for artifacts including bottles, guns, ceramics and more.

Hans has dived extensively in Winnipesaukee, bringing side scan sonar with him wherever he searches and dives. He has located wrecks previously not known, and captured images on side scan sonar and photographed and video taped a number of sites with his dive buddy and cameraman Lea Nichols. His presentation will cover the history of the Lake, with a narration of things he has found that were previously known and plus some new things. Artifacts will be displayed and, time permitting, an underwater video will be played of one of his shipwreck dives.

The presentation is free and will last approx. 1 hour with ample time for questions and answers.
